Heart's thoughts from a Riv member

the conversation is going well on the previous post-let's continue it. But yesterday, a covenantal member of the riv opened their heart to share the difficulties in living by faith.

Here is the link to a post by Beth King: http://adayinthelife1985.blogspot.com/2008/08/seeking-first-kingdom-of-god-highest.html

thanks Beth for allowing us to journey through life with you, and for your love of justice in this unjust world.

I really feel your pain, Beth. I not only have family, but am bombarded by Christians at work who already assume the candidate for whom I am voting, and they assume that I think caring for the planet is a hoax and anyone who is not a Christian is a liberal idiot, who doesn't really want to help poor people get off the streets, but only wants to give out money. Of course, this is not the case, but I am daily frustated at the way "Christian" people mindlessly forward you Republican stuff assuming that we are all of the same mindset, but when you raise an eyebrown over anything and actually respond, they act as if you are speaking Japanese. I guess this is more of a vent than a comment (nice rhyme), but I do appreciate your desire for justice in the world and I think that is some of what The River is aspiring to be about.
